November 30

What up everyone -

I DROPPED THE BALL HARD LAST WEEK.  MA BAD.

To make up for it, this week's drop features my top tracks from last week and the new goods from this week.  Think this is one of the best drops yet, and I really could write about any of the tunes I included.  I'm only highlighting the handful of really notable releases, but give this one a listen from top to bottom. â€‹â€‹

  • I've gotta kick it off with ODESZA who released their deluxe version of A Moment Apart.  While much of the new material are instrumentals and orchestral takes on their hits, there are some remixes and tracks previously only heard in their live shows.  I led the playlist with Memories That You Call and It's Only.

  • When We Were Young is one I've had on repeat since last week.  It features Luke Steele from Empire of the Sun on vocals, and M-Phazes, one of Australia's biggest producers.

  • Møme teamed up with one of my favorite writers and vocalists at the moment, Ricky Ducati, on a new one that's pretty worthy - Sail Away.

  • I still don't know who the hell Ricky Retro is, but this dude stays getting Spotify love, and delivered another funky one today with 1977

  • Gryffin dropped another new one today, Bye Bye.  Shout out to my dude Lubliner delivering another hit on Darkroom.

  • Anti Up, aka Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo, released their first EP today.  If you're a FISHER fan, give it a listen

  • My guy Sonny Fodera dropped another one today with Somebody New.

  • Included the new Gesaffelstein at the bottom because tbh I'm not feeling it.. at all... but I feel obligated to include it.

November 16

Let's jump into it.

  • I kicked this week off with Oliver Heldens' remix of the classic Le Freak.  Every now and then Heldens releases a song I vibe with, and today is one of those times.

  • Some big tunes from techno heavyweights today.  These won't be for everyone, but for the dark souls among us, check out Maceo Plex's Mutant Robotics. Tiga & The Martinez Brothers dropped an EP on the former's famed Turbo Recordings - check Late Night.  The goat Hot Since 82 dropped Bloodlines, featuring his signature booming 4 to the floor bassline and oscillating, ethereal vocals.  Maya Jane Coles released another one with Other Side.

  • Devault is really killing it right now.  Hot on the heels of his debut album, Devault drops a remix of 6LACK's Switch.

  • One of Foreign Family's latest signees ford. dropped his first album on the collective today.  (The) Evening is a melancholic lo-fi body of work, and feels right at home for FF Collective's NorthWestern roots (nearly half the song's feature ambient rain falling in the background...) and indie electronic vibe.  Give it a listen.

  • Another release connected to the Foreign Fam comes by way of Rufus Du Sol's Rose Avenue Records.  The newly formed label's second release is from fellow Aussie's Lastlings.  Deja Vu is the first single from the brother and sister duo in 2018, and I expect it marks the first of many tracks to come.

  • Newcomer ricky retro follows up his first single from last week with another one this week.  I duno who this dude is, but he's dropping some pretty filthy g-house.

  • The lads CamelPhat released another single today with Breathe (ft. Jem Cooke).

  • Out on Lee Foss's Repopulate Mars imprint is the long-awaited Hanging Tree from Michael Bibi.  This track has been making the rounds in the DJ circuit and goes pretty hard for all my tech-house heads.

  • Dirty South came outta nowhere with a new album entitled "darko".  It's a new chapter for a guy who made his name early in the EDM game, and a fitting name for the album as it sees the producer making headways in a darker, more mature direction.  I've included a handful of tracks, but from top to bottom DS paves a driving, emotional journey a la much of the Anjunadeep roster.  I'm feelin it.

November 9

What's up friends.  Let's get to it.

  • I missed that Devault dropped more than just a new single last week - he dropped his whole debut EP.  I was a little skeptical of this dude at first.  I couldn't figure out why he was getting so much Spotify love.  But the more I've listened, the better it gets - and Stay certainly delivers.  Not a lot is known of this OC up and comer, but as one of Geffen's newcomers, I expect to see a lot more from him.   It's all good, but of the newer material Glide, Who's Your Lover, and Tell Me That You Tried are great.  Catch him on tour now.

  • One of my favorite new artists around dropped another heater today - check out SUMR CAMP's Wait A Minute.

  • Australian live act Set Mo bring it again with Afterglow.  Still expecting these guys to pop stateside in a big way.

  • MK takes the already house-y Electricity and gives it the MK house treatment.

  • Midnight Kids dropped a new single today with Matthew Koma.  Serious is a bit cheese, but it's still got the 80's synth stylings that Midnight Kids have made their own, and I can live with that.

  • Whethan's debut EP Life of a Wallflower Vol 1. is out today.  Half the material is new, and of the new stuff Miss You and Top Shelf (ft. Bipolar Sunshine) are both solid tracks.  All in all, this kid is hugely talented.  The music might not be for everyone, but he's carved out a unique sound and is gona be a force in the scene.  Surprised he didn't get Mint love on this....

  • The Joe Stone remix of Move (Time To Get Loose) is big on the disco-house vibes.

  • New Claptone today.  Animal comes in the form of an original and two remixes.  The OG version is the best.

November 2

New month, new playlist.  You'll notice the playlist is now Boggs Selects: November and that all of the songs from October are gone.  If you were still feeling the music on there, as always you can access all past months on the archive playlist.  Let's get to the music.

  • Purple Disco Machine does it again with a remix of Fatboy Slim's classic Praise You.

  • My girl Nora En Pure does her thing again on Polynesia, a brand new four-song EP.  I'm diggin all four tracks, so I threw em all in here.

  • Surprise!  Wolfgang Gartner's single last week was just a tease for a 6 song EP, Medicine.  Wolfgang. Is. Back. The whole thing is dope, but I threw in a couple favorites - Good Medicine and Excalibur.

  • ricky retro released BAD.  No idea who this guy is, and he appears to have just been added to Spotify with this release but is somehow the face of Friday Cratediggers playlist.  Straight up (less fire) Fisher knockoff, but still kinda fun.

  • Poolside drops a sexy remix of Feel Your Weight.

  • Devault has another new tune out today.  Thinking of You.  This one is a departure from much of his prior work.  Real vibey as always.  Feels more radio/commercially primed.

  • Obligatory Foreign Family shoutout.  The collective introduced a new artist - mai.la.  This is the first release from the female duo fka Sondar, and features hypnotic vocals and swirling synths.  Has a bit of Billie Eillish inspiration imo.

  • Maya Jane Coles has a new single out today called Don't Leave.  A familiar name in the underground, it's good to hear some new music from MJC and hopefully means there's more in the pipeline.

  • Throwing this in there because it's the first time Calvin has sang on a track for a minute -  I Found from benny blanco and Calvin Harris.  Wish Calvin would throw it back to the old days and sing on more of his material again.

  • Ayyy new LSD out today.  Mountains marks the fourth single from the supergroup, and is the name of their debut EP that includes their previous three singles.
