October 25, 2019

This week is one of my favorite batches of new music â€‹recently.  Really good stuff top to bottom to close out a solid October.

  • Another really solid new remix outta Cassian, who takes on Hayden James' 'Favours' on the Between Us remix pack.  This one has a lot of quality remixes, some of which have been previously released like Dom Dolla's take on 'Nowhere To Go'.  I included Set Mo's remix of 'Weightless' and Enamour's 'Between Us'.

  • Man, Petit Biscuit coming in big on his remix of Flume's test smash with Vera Blue, 'Rushing Back'.  PB stays true to a lot of the elements of the OG while really driving some melody into the track for an all-around beautiful remix.

  • ZHU came for the low.

  • My girl Nora En Pure dropped her three-track Homebound EP, giving fans her signature sunset drenched brand of house music.

  • After a long string of big-time dance hits, Gryffin finally delivered his much-anticipated debut album, Gravity.  Fans will be familiar with a lot of material on the album, but of the new music, I'm really fuckin with 'Nothing Like You (ft HANA)' with DROELOE.

  • Alex Metric comes in hot with his remix of Moon Boots 'Whisper In The Wind'.

  • Pete Tong has been on a recent hot streak of disco tunes that I'm really diggin.  His latest is 'Symphony' with HER-O, Jules Buckley, and Boy George.

  • Bor & Mar dropped off a slappin new remix of Botnek's 'Jiffy'.  In a similar vein of bass-driven house, Kideko released his latest original 'Waya Know', and Ship Wrek took their latest single and gave it an edgier midnight makeover.

  • In the future bass lane, Ekali's latest single with Kiiara hits big.

October 11 & 18, 2019

This week, I combined two Fridays of music into one big, epic drop of tunes.  Gona start at the top and work my way down through 55 all-new bangers.

  • I'm kicking this week off with a new project that really fired me up.  Redrago is a new group that sees Red Axes and DJ Tennis team up, and man oh man is this EP a strong debut.  I highly suggest checking out the entire EP out now on Tennis’s own Life & Death imprint.  If you're into weird, groovy, original tunes, look no further.

  • Another new project to hit the scene is OTHERLiiNE, a musical partnership between George FitzGerald and ‘Lil Silva’, a producer who has thus far made a name for himself as a behind the scenes producer.  I threw both tracks off their debut EP on the playlist, and have had 'Hates Me' on repeat.

  • Tourist is an artist that continues to deliver quality electronic productions, and his latest effort ‘Kin’ is no exception.

  • Things take a step into the mega chill with a new collab outta SG Lewis and UK R&B up and comer James Vickery.  Throw this one on Sunday morning when you're feeling mega hungover and get your groove back.

  • Ookay is an artist that wears a ton of different hats, and seemingly creates whatever music he’s feeling in the moment.  His latest original ‘Lecha’ is really nothing like anything the guy has produced before, and it may just be one of my favorite tracks of his to date.

  • Madeon released another new single off his forthcoming album Good Faith, and much like the earlier releases, this one sees the French producer keep with more laid back, intimate cuts than some of his earlier work.

  • Keeping with the more laid back vibes up top, Chrome Sparks dropped a pretty chill remix of Whethan and The Knocks ‘Summer Luv” that keeps things groovy.

  • Duskus released his latest EP In Retrospect on one of my personal favorite labels, Foreign Family, marking his first release with the label as an official memeber of the collective.  I love that he teased this EP with only one single and gave fans four all-new songs.  In the streaming age, this approach is often seen as risky.  I included 'Can't stand the feeling', but if you're into his sound you'll enjoy the entire body of work.

  • Things start to pick up with the latest from Franky Rizardo, 'Air', though the track marks a more low key sound than some of his recent work.  Other heat comes from Fangs, Yolanda Be Cool, Max Styler, and Sonny Fodera with Biscits.

  • Devault released his Sapphire EP that follows a familiar formula to his Jade EP. Namely, the four tracks play best as one continuous body of work from top to bottom, and feature a dark, nostalgic energy the talented young producer is making his own.

  • Poolside dropped a new tune called 'Greatest City' that's a driving, nostalgic number.
  • The last 10 or so tracks are all deeper cuts, with new ones from fan-favorite Lane 8, Rampa, Nic Fanciulli and more.

October 4, 2019

After a weak showing in September, I’m back full force this month.  And from the look of things, this month should be a solid one.  I’ve always seen October as a big month for dance music.  After the festival season and European summer ends, artists get back into the studios and back to touring in the States.  Not to mention, techno’s unofficial holiday of Halloween caps the month and is always host to some of the year’s biggest parties.  Now, to the music.

  • Channel Tres never fails to bring big-time vibes, and his latest remix of Tyler’s ‘EARFQUAKE’ is no exception.

  • I threw in a couple of songs this week that I didn’t show enough love to last week.  One of them is Cassian’s latest tune ‘Magical’ with vocals from newcomer Zolly.

  • Another bangin remix comes from Claptone, who dropped a sultry disco-house rendition of Mark Ronson’s ‘Don’t Leave Me Lonely’.  Claptone makes great use of YEBBA’s stellar vocal and turned the track into a certified head-nodder.

  • Another disco’d up record came from the prolific master of disco-funk, Purple Disco Machine, who remixed one of the summer’s hottest records, ‘Joys’ from Roberto Suarce.

  • Justin Jay dropped a new two-track EP on one of my favorite labels, Desert Hearts.  This one’s proper.  It also kicks off a block of some tech-house filth from the likes of Hannah Wants & Kevin Knapp, Dom Dolla, Jamie Jones & The Martinez Bros, and Matt.Joe.  One particularly fierce record comes from Martin Ikin who dropped a single on FISHER’s label Catch & Release.  In fact, ‘Hooked’ is the labels first signing, and unsurprisingly delivers a sound any fan of the FISH is sure to fuck with.  Another proper bunch of music comes from one of the hottest tech-house DJs in the world right now, Michael Bibi, who released a three-track EP on Lee Foss’s Repopulate Mars imprint.  The EP has two originals that are filled with the furious baselines and wonky samples he’s been crushing dance floors with all summer long.  I also included Lee Foss and Mason Maynard's remix of 'Garden of Groove'.

  • Butch and C.Vogt released a super unique tune called 'Desire' that just hits in a bunch of different ways that make it an absolute jam.

  • Woah.  Gessefalstein outta nowhere with a new six-song EP!  NOVO SONIC SYSTEM is ripe with those classic, dark oscillating synths and heavy bass lines the French producer has made famous, though the tracks on this EP have an 80’s/punk quality to them that gives it a unique flavor.  It’s really best to listen to this  EP top to bottom, as the whole composition plays best as a body of work.  He’ll be hitting the road on a US tour this November.

  • The last 10 or so tracks are kinda all over the place, but most tend to be on the deeper side.  I closed out this week with another one from last week - Flume's latest original 'Rushing Back' with Vera Blue.

That's all folks -
