August 30, 2019
August has been a massive month, and this week is no different. The first ~30 songs up top are all new, with a lot of real proper vibes incoming.

-
Things lead off with two new ones from the Rufus / Rose Avenue Records team. Cassian has fast emerged as one of my favorite producers of the moment, and his latest remix of 'Stay' by The Ashton Shuffle keeps the hot streak alive. He's really crafted a sound of his own, and if you've ever caught a Rufus DJ set, you'll know the sound (ps - Rufus routinely throws down some of my favorite DJ sets). Speaking of Rufus, they keep the Solace remix train rolling, this time enlisting Eelke Kleijn who brings some laid back vibes to their smash, 'No Place'.
-
PNAU is another artist from down other that I fucking love, and while their latest original 'All Of Us' is perhaps a bit more commercially palatable than some of their other work, it's still jam-packed with vibes.
-
Since Australia is the best place for music, why not throw in the Micahel Calfan remix of Hayden James' 'Nowhere To Go'?
-
Up top, some other highlights include new ones from Moon Boots and Jax Jones whom each enlist vocal talent to drive the feels on their respective singles.
-
Things start to get a bit deeper with Jimpster's remix of Hot Since 82's 'Therapy'. Four Tet dropped his latest original, a dark-groover with ethereal, atmospheric effects over a driving kick that's sure to seem some play in his live shows. Booka Shade dropped a remix of Verboten Berlin's 'Real Or Nature', and I was drawn to it more than anything because I recalled the name Verboten Berlin from a Running Touch remix. I looked into them a bit, and they appear to be a Berlin-based production duo who are definitely worth checking out. Solomun also released a remix of Apparat's 'OUTLIER' that's a slow-building, deep yet progressive journey.
-
Devault keeps it dark while picking up the pace a bit on his latest original, Sapphire. This one stays true to his cinematic, 80's-inspired sound that makes him a unique up-and-comer worth watching. And since I couldn't just throw in one 80's inspired tune, I included the latest single from Skream, 'Song For Olivia', filled with synths straight outta '83.
-
From there, I go big on the house and tech-house, starting with Paul Wooldford's remix of 'We Were Young', and PAX's latest heater, 'Boom'. Desert Hearts stalwart Lubeliski continues his hot streak with another techy-groover. Some other tech-house heat comes from Detlef, Chris Lorenzo, and Darius Syrossian who dropped a two-track EP.
-
The last handful of tracks are an eclectic bunch with a lot of unique bass-punch. While they're all pretty different artists, Day or Night & Seth Troxler, Antraing, Dillon Francis, San von Horn, Adam K & Andy Reid, and Cloverdale all released tracks with some furious low end.

Strong close to August. Let's see what September has 🤔🔮.

What's up y'all. This week leads off with an eclectic bunch of indie leaning, funky tracks before getting progressively housier with some real heat in the mix. The last handful of songs are a pre-Burn grouping of underground, Playa ready tracks for the desert. Let' go.

-
Things kick off with a project near and dear to me - the debut EP from my boys NOKO is finally here. They both lead off and close out the indie-electronic section of tunes, with 'Wavs' setting a chill, ethereal tone, and 'Untitled019' wrapping things up with some experimental wonk. In the middle of it all sits their first vocal original 'Real Thing' featuring the super talented Stella Smyth. This is just the start for these guys.
-
Other highlights in the indie-electronic bunch include a Ross from Friends remix of Flume's 'Let You Know', a very Disclosure-esque new original out of Party Pupils, another brilliantly constructed track from Haywyre, and a funky one from DROELOE.
-
The house vibes pick up with a sexy, downtempo tune outta Route 94 on 'Forget the Girl'. Ferreck Dawn dropped some big-time house sound on his latest tune 'Selfish Games' that sees him team up with vocalist Alex Mills. MOTi gets absolutely filthy on his latest take 'Shoot To Kill', and Just Kiddin get keep it vibey with 'Stay the Night'.
-
OFFAIAH is back with yet another underground club-ready groover, 'What I Grew Up On'. Another highlight is a new one from Biscits who brings some semi-FISHER sounds with his new single 'The Pressure'.
-
In honor of Burning Man, I've dropped a handful of tracks to get you ready for The Playa. I kick it off with "Cala Brassa" from Franc&co who channels those Playa sunrise vibes with a track somewhat reminiscent of early Ten Walls, but with a bit more tribal charm. Gregor Tresor steps up the industrial heaviness on 'Headless', ahead of a truly spacey bit of business from Wally Lopez and Botoko on 'Soonrize'. Art Department released a 3-track EP, and 'Mind Made Up' felt like a track you could find in the early hours of the underground, or out on the Playa. Another one that fits that bill on the techy-side is the latest from Lubelski & Musashi out on the ever poppin Desert Hearts. Things get back to the dark side with a new one from Keinmusik boss &ME on '1995', and a different kind of darkness is achieved on a new 8-minute saga from Adult Art Club that most definitely achieves some face-melting abilities.

This week is packed from top to bottom with straight-up vibes. Gona keep it short and sweet.

-
Channel Tres is fast emerging as one of my favorite rising producers, and this latest one bumps per usual.
-
TWO LANES dropped a clean remix of Running Touch's 'Make Your Move' that I like more than the OG. Tensnake also dropped a remix that's worth checking out.
-
Just Us & Wolves By Night released one of my favorite jams of last summer, and this latest one 'Questions' is filled with disco-vibes.
-
Rat City gets all the feels on 'Deliourously Good'.
-
Rufus's label Rose Ave has been developing emerging bro-sis duo Lastlings for a bit now, and this latest single keeps their hot streak alive.
-
Gorgon City & MK team up to go big on 'There for You'
-
SUMR CAMP id finally back with a new original, and 'Pump' fucking bumps.
-
Disciples are here with more fuego.
-
One of Foreign Family's latest signings, Memba, just dropped their debut album on the collective, and in true FF fashion released an accompanying mini-movie to amp up the audio-visual experience.

What's up what's up. Lotta good music this week. Let's jump to it.

-
Up top, things start off mellow and vibey. One of my favorite emerging duos, Lastlings, released their latest - a remix of SG Lewis's 'Flames'. Elderbrook once again delivers some big time feels on his latest collab with Rudimental, 'Something About You'. Dombresky is back with another new one, this time taking things down a notch on 'Meli-Melo'. Moon Boots up his tribal bump with his latest, 'Juanita'. The Knocks continue their hot steak on 'Colors', and Cashmere Cat is back with a really solid, unique new take on 'EMOTIONS' which sees the producer take a new direction.
-
Kaskade dropped a pretty filthy remix of Diplo & Blond:ish's house banger 'Give Dem'.
-
Two Nora En Pure classics got some solid remix treatment. Passenger 10 takes 'Come with Me' to a deeper level, and Daniel Portman gives 'Polynesia' a playa tech overhaul.
-
Some other favorites this week include new ones from Jamie Jones and Darius Syrossian, Blonde, Art Department, and Gold Panda.

New month means a fresh playlist top to bottom. July was one of the strongest months of music in a long time, and that playlist is still available here. Now, onto August with 30 all new tracks.

-
This week kicks off with another new one from NOKO, who take things down a notch on the laidback head-nodder, 'Chop Chop'. This is the second single off their debut EP dropping later this month.
-
Next up is a new one from Berlin 4-piece electronic band GHESIT. They dropped two tracks today on Solomun's always proper Diynamic, and I really enjoy both. 'Unusual' is my favorite of the two, featuring driving drums and a haunting vocal sample I can't seem to shake.
-
Up top, things stay vibey with a new remix from Rinzen of Lastlings 'I've Got You'. Both of those artists are in the Rufus circle, and I expect much more from them in the future. Poolside did his thing once again on his latest single 'Can't Stop Your Lovin', and Roland Tings teams up with Mild Minds on their latest vibe, 'Always Rushing'.
-
Next we have a block of 5-tracks that all have some serious hip-hop influence. First up is the lastest from Flume who followed up the success of his collab with Reo Cragun by dropping 2-more tracks with the rising Canadian rapper. Both 'Levitate' and 'Quits' work brilliantly alongside their OG single 'Friends'. BURNS dropped a filthy remix of A$AP Rocky (FREE A$AP) and Sabrina Claudio's 'Energy'. In fact, 'Energy' got a grip of remixes, and I love the proper angle RCA took on this one, enlisting other tech-house hitters like Sonny Fodera and Ilylus & Barrientos, as well as some additional left-field players like Krs. and Govi. Stoked to see major labels embracing quality electronic producers. Channel Tre and JPEGMAFIA teamed up for some low-end filth on 'Black Moses', before closing out this block with another Flume/Reo Cragun tune.
-
Niko The Kid dropped an absolute heater with his remix of Bipolar Sunshine's 'Away'.
-
Things get a bit more housey, with Redondo continuing his hot streak with another new original, 'Pick You Up'. The Magician dropped a remix of Aevion's 'Lights Go Down', and Joris Voorn dropped a real vibey take of MEDUZA's banger 'Piece Of Your Heart' (Lee Foss is also on that remix pack, and when he played his version at the Mirage a few weeks back it went offff). Roberto Suarce gets funky on his latest piece 'Joys' on the always proper Defected, and KC Lights releases yet another 6am Remix that bangs.
-
Eastern Odyssey's latest tune 'Horizons' and a new one from indie future-bass star Taska Black offer a brief dip into some different sounds before things get a tab more proper. The last ~10 songs are all quality, featuring releases from Andhim, Max Cooper, Sidney Charles, Edu Imbernon and more.

August if of to a strong start, and I'm hyped.
