Whats up whats up -

Combined two weeks of music into one as I was out last Friday.

I picked a handful of my favorite songs from last week and threw them at the top of this week's playlist.

  • I kicked off with the goat, ZHU's new single with of all artists, Sofi Tukker.  I wouldn't have ever thought up this combo, but it actually works super well and I've had it on repeat.  Check out Mi Rumba for some freaky sexy vibes.

  • Young guns Ship Wrek have another heater out with Make it Last.  Big things coming from these dudes, mark my words.

  • Jai Wolf released the first two singles off his forthcoming album.  One takes a real indie rock direction, while Telepathy has many of the familiar elements from Jai that fans have come to know and love.

  • Gorgon City get techy with Lick Shot

  • Croatia Squad dropped a new 3 track EP.  This Swiss ledge consistently turns out some of the most furious jungle tech-house, and Corrosive definitely stays true to his vibe.

  • OFFAIAH has been on a tear recently, and this new remix of Jack Back's (It Happens) Sometimes is no different.  I expect this dude to have a big 2019.

Now to this week's tunes -

  • Woooooo this one's hot.  Jamie Fucking Jones with a remix of Bob Moses' Enough to Believe is enough said.

  • For some down tempo chiller shit, I've always really vibed to TACHES.  They dropped a new EP, and Meet You In The Moonlight is real nice.

  • Justin Jay has a viber with his latest, I'm Shy When I'm Around You.  This kid is a real underappreciated talent.  If you ever get a chance to check his shows, they're super worth it.

  • For my tech house fam, Eli Brown has a hot new EP out.  This guy consistently churns out songs ready to shred the dance floor.  Another Dimension will likely take you into another dimension.  You are forewarned.

  • In the same vein as TACHES, Red Axes always deliver the deeper tunes.  Their new 3 track EP Sound Test isn't my favorite of their work, but I can get down with the title track Sound Test.

  • Oliver Heldens takes one of my favorite samples of all time and gives it some real funk.

  • M-22 gets housey on White Lies.

  • One of my favorites, Purple Disco Machine, has another funky disco house track that marks his signature flair.  Check out his latest remix of Jax Jones Play.  Same can be said for Yolanda Be Cool's latest original, Dance & Chant.

  • Bonobo has another quality tune out this week with Ibrik

There's a lot in here.  Really digging everything from this week's drop.  30 clean tracks for your listening enjoyment.

What's Up People -

Well, after a relatively shit week of music to kick off the new year, week two of January delivered in a big way.

  • Tourist has a new one out with Emily, and it just felt like the right song to kick off the playlist with this week.

  • Next song up came out a couple of months ago, but was too much of a banger to pass up sharing.  Como va by Sugar Hill and Natema gives a club-ready makeover to the familiar classic.

  • Never heard of 7 Minutes Dead, but his track Without Chu is real vibey.

  • Touch Sensitive also dropped a new one last month, but since Spotify's algorithms can work in ... erm mysterious ways... I missed it.  Check out G.A.L.

  • Had to share this one becasue it might have the greatest sample ever used in the history of music.  Chris Samz and Versus, I duno who y'all are, but using the sample from this all-time youtube video, bravo.  Party Starter is a pretty satandard tech house tune, but worht a listen for the sample alone.

  • Another producer I've never heard of, Eran Hersh's Just a Beat is one I keep coming back to.

  • I want to give a shout out to a friend who just released the first EP on his new vinyl-focused label, Cactus Traxx.  D Root's Let Me Go has classic down tempo house vibes you can't help but groove to.

  • In the middle of the playlist, I threw in some of the dirtiest low-end heavy tracks I found as well as some more techy stuff.  My dude Tim Baresko with a remix of Mercer's Monte Carlo, a new remix out from one of my recent favorites Kyle Watson, Dillon Nathaniel with some g-house filth on Pressure.  All good.

I could honestly write about just any track this week.  The back half of the playlist is just as good as the front.  New ones from Gessaffelstein ft. The Weeknd, Desert Hearts, Tinlicket, Timmy Trumpet, and EDX just to name a few of the bigger artists on their.

Hey All -

Couple days behind here - Ma bad! But it was really just because I wasn't all that inspired by anything I found last week and wanted to see what I could dig into this weekend.  I also included links to the 2018 year-end playlists.  I've had Vibey House Favorites on repeat.

Some of the highlights on Boggs Selects January 2019:

  • From Defected's development label DFTD, Croatian duo PEZNT drop some classic house vibes.  If you like Defected, this is right in line with everything they do.

  • No idea who RØDY is, but kinda fuckin with this song.

  • DJ Mayson - another rando.  But somehow this guy's music has been featured in Spotify's key discovery playlists.  Not Like Them was on New Music Friday last week.  No idea how.  Song is catchy, agreeable "deep house", just nothing groundbreaking or all that special.  WHO ARE YOU DJ MAYSON

  • Scott Diaz has a funky one out on Armada Deep with his remix of Low Steppa's Heard it All Before.

  • Ten Walls has a new one out.  Before he pretty much destroyed his own career over a series of shitty Facebook comments, this dude really helped put underground sounds on the map with Walking With Elephants.  I never really understood why people lost their marbles over that song, and this new one Mas is pretty much right in line with all his other work.
