July 26, 2019

What's up people!  July has been a 🔥month of new music, and this week is no different.  Heads up, this drop is heavy on the heavy, and there are some real proper tunes in this bunch.

  • Kicking off this week with a new one from Bag Raiders who are in the midst of a really strong return to the scene.  Following up two previous singles released earlier this year, their latest 'How Long' has the makings of a track that will find itself on repeat.

  • Ross from Friends has been getting a lot of well-deserved recognition, and his latest laid back viber 'The Revolution' is another solid take from the UK producer.

  • DJ Snake dropped a fat 17-track album, Carte Blanche.  There's a ton of new material, and Snake has colllabs with some of the biggest names in music.  Of the new music, I'm really digging 'No More' featuring ZHU and 'Made In France' with his Pardon My French squad Malaa, Tchami, and Mercer.

  • Hot Since 82 released his latest album 8-track, featuring ... you guessed it, 8-tracks.  While about half the tracks have been previously released, I dig the new material arguably better than any of the singles.  What I like in particular about this collection of songs is that they are representative of the various styles of music Daley plays in his sets, from laid back boat party vibes on tracks like 'Vapours' and 'Street Lights', to the dance floor ready heavers 'Buggin' and 'Bloodlines'.  And yet, each tack carries that signature Hot Since 82 sound fans have come to know and love.

  • After a couple of his own recent singles, Jauz dropped a 10-track compilation of bass-laden heat on Jauz Presents: This Is Off The Deep End.  Coming to us by way of his Bite This! imprint, the compilation features some real bangers from some of my favorites, including 'Dance With Me' from young guns Ship Wrek and a heavy one from low-end master Kyle Watson on 'Bricks'.

  • Prolific tech-house duo CamelPhat team up with Riva Starr on the two-track Crystal Clear EP.  Both tunes are pretty damn proper, but I only threw the title track 'Crystal Clear' in the playlist, as 'Electricity' is best saved for a filthy Brooklyn warehouse.  However, if that's your thing, throw that monster on  😈.  This kicks of a techy little block, with other new ones from Eli Brown, Prok & Fitch, and Nitti Gritti.

  • Things get a bit indie electronic/leftfield house with DROELOE's remix of 'We Were Young' and the latest one from Louis The Child which also appears to be the X-Games theme song, 'Big Time'.

  • After some big vibes from Bakermat and Midnight City, things start to get a bit more spacey.  Sasha dropped a proper remix of 'The Bird' by SYML.  Luttrell and Yotto bring the Anjuna vibes on their respective singles, and both the Chus & Ceballos remix of 'Yeke Yeke' and Matthias Tanzmann's remix of 'Monaberry' by Super Flu are reserved for the more discerning electronic fans.

All in this one is a really solid collection of new music.  Enjoy.

Little late on this one because I was, once again, off the grid without wi-fi last weekend.  In any event, I'm incredibly excited about this batch of new music.  Not only does it have some real gems, but the playlist kicks off with the debut single from my artist, NOKO.  Overall, I'd say the first handful of tracks all fall into the 'epic intro' category, before things get a bit more housey / disco vibe.  The playlist rounds out with some 'easy listening' dance music for those summer chill-out days.  Let's get to it.

  • I've been waiting for this for a while now, and I'm proud to share the first single from my artist, NOKO.  'Desert Bloom' is a 5-minute journey of swirling arpeggios, choppy vocal samples, and booming drops, and it serves as the intro track for their forthcoming EP, DAWN, coming this August.  Super proud of this one, and big ups to NOKO and my co-manager Connor - the track went #1 overall on Hype Machine!  A lot more to come, including their next single July 30.

  • One of my favorite artists of 2019, Polo & Pan, dropped a real wonky new single, 'Gengis'.  As the title suggests, this one is BIG.

  • Some other tunes that fall into the proper intro category include new ones from Eastern Odyssey, Michael Mayer, Four Tet, and MEMBA.

  • Things start to get more housey with the MK x Nightlapse remix of 'So Hot'.  Purple Disco Machine dropped a 2-track EP, and I threw both of them in here.  Phantoms also dropped an album that I included some new material from.  And Jauz is back with another real vibey one, this time teaming up with rising producer i_o.

  • In the laid back dance music section, Conro delivered a new ep with some solid tunes.  Blonde dropped a remix of A R I Z O N A's 'Nostalgic' that's pretty vibey, and Mahalo keeps it sexy on his remix of 'Shameless'.

Really love this drop! Hope you all do too.

Back on track with some new Friday heat.  And this week is stacked.  Sheeesh.  There's a good amount of chiller tracks mixed in with some heavier dance floor heat.  Lets' get to it.

  • Moon Boots released a new single today, 'Tied Up', and it's a summer-ready tune that'll be a crowd pleaser.

  • Madeon is back with his second release of the summer, and this one is just as vibey as his first.  From Madeon himself, ‘Dream Dream Dream’ is the very first song that opens my upcoming album, and I’m really proud of that song. I really was really happy when I made it because I felt like it captured what I was trying to achieve aesthetically with good faith and what I was trying to communicate in terms of lyrical content and just meaning and purpose, I guess, so I felt like I finally found the vibe".  You have indeed found the vibe.

  • Tinlicker has been releasing some consistently great music of late, and this latest one 'Lost' is another really solid tune.

  • Sonny Fodera dropped his latest album, Rise, featuring a bunch of new material in addition to some previously released work.  Some of my favorites include 'Give Me A Reason', 'Control' featuring Shannon Saunders, and 'What Is Love'.

  • I'm not really familiar with Jonny Sum, but his latest single 'Lisa' is a pretty funky little gem.

  • Things get a bit housier and heavier with another new one from Mat.Joe.  Eli Brown, Erick Morillo, Patrick Topping, Mendo, Fangs, and J. Worra all keep things pretty proper.

  • Some highlights of the back half include new ones from M-22., Phantoms, Duke & Jones, and a Sons of Maria remix of Calippo's 'Never Really Liked You'.

All in, July is off to an epic start.

Next week, big announcement coming about a project near and dear to my heart ♥️🤫.

July 5, 2019

Since I was out last Friday, here's a little mid-week selection of new tunes.  This one is a proper bunch of tracks from top to bottom.  Here are a few of my favorites.

  • Kyle Watson dropped a fat remix pack for his EP, and I included a handful of tracks from that bad boy including Mat.Joe's remix of 'Chomp' that kicks this week off.

  • Things get Latin with new ones from PAAX and Ninetoes.

  • Robosonic picks up the bump with his latest 'Booty Call'.

  • Young weapons Ship Wrek dropped off another new original that is just a fierce as all their other work.

  • Dusky, Gorgon City, and Art Department all have new singles out that makes for a particularly proper little bunch of tunes on the playlist.

  • Bonobo makes things real pretty with his latest single, 'Linked'.

  • The last few tracks pick up the hear again with new ones from Ookay & Moksi, Little Fritter, and Wongo's filthy remix of a personal favorite, 'Take It' from Dom Dolla.

Short writeup this week, but a quality group of bangers nonetheless.
